The manufacturers suggest effective contraception should be used whilst on treatment and for up to six months after treatment stops. If you should become pregnant then you should inform your Consultant immediately. There is a risk of long term fertility impairment. Therefore both sexes should seriously consider whether they would wish to become a parent before they consider treatment.
