Camshaft Locking Pin (Fig.2)Insert VS125/R1 Pin through the timing hole in the camshaft sprocket and into the timing hole in the cylinder head.NOTE: Some 1.5 K9K engine variants have an adjustable camshaft sprocket (identified by 3 x sprocket retaining boltsto a camshaft carrier plate and elongated timing slot in the sprocket).Remove the crankshaft pulley, slacken the belt tensioner and remove belt.Once a belt has been removed, a new belt and tensioning rollers must be fitted.Check the positions of timing marks - the camshaft sprocket (positioned by Pin), the crankshaft (keyway verticallyupwards) and the fuel pump (approx 1 o’clock position aligned with bolt head directly behind sprocket. ie. one tooth toright of vertical axis).NOTE: If the engine variant has an adjustable camshaft sprocket, remove one bolt and slacken the other two by oneturn....

Vacuum Brake Booster. The Dual Rate vacuum system is similar to conventional systems in operation. The main difference from the standard booster is that the ... The system design leads to two slope changes in thecontrol area of the characteristic curve (shown in themiddle chart at right). This is an advantage, since thisgives the driver a progressive pedal feel in anemergency. When loaded to a given point (stress increase in thereaction disc) the outer ring (DR-Sleeve) is displacedrelative to the core area of the ratio disc. The start of therelative movement is determined by the pre-load force ofthe Dual Rate spring. This force can be set to matchcustomer requirements. The first knee point should occurat about 35 to 40 bar of master cylinder pressure. Thesecond knee point occurs when the external pressurearea, which is determined by the Dual Rate sleeve, abutsthe carrier step of the valve body...

Mar 6, 2009 ... Delta credits itself with creating the hub and spoke system, which used a central location to connect one Delta flight to another. It was not until ... The Air Commerce Act of 1926 comprised the regulations togovern aviation in the United States. These regulations centered on safety: they regulated aircraft registration, certification of pilots, air traffic rules, and lighting and navigation beacons at airports. The founding of Northwest Airlines in 1926 was a perfect example of the effects of the Airmail Act. The airline beganas a mail carrier route originating in Minneapolis/St. Paul at what was then the Speedway Flying Field. The two-planefleet of Northwest Airlines carried mail to Chicago for the first year, and took its first passenger in 1927. When theairline industry was first regulated in 1938, Northwest was operating flights to large and mid-sized cities in the upperMidwest, including Winnipeg, Canada; Omaha, Nebraska, was the southernmost city served. Northwest also operatedflights to several Pacific Northwest cities as well as Montana and North Dakota. Passenger revenue did not exceedmail revenue until 1941, and routes were added very gradually, at the rate of one or two per year until 1978 ....
The Junkers Jumo 205 Diesel Engine Junkers Jumo Diesel aircraft engines are the only large engines functioning on the two-cycle principle which are used in modern aviation. They are built in Germany and are used extensively in both civil and military airplanes in that country. The best known model is the Jumo 205 which has been built by the thousands in a speciallyequipped factory. This engine is not supercharged although it is equipped with a centrifugal-type blower. Like other Jumo Diesels it is water-cooled and of low frontal area (Fig. 35). The Jumo 205 has six in-line cylinders and two crankshafts-one at the top and the other at the bottom of the cylinder block connected by a train of gear wheels. It also has two opposed pistons and two connecting rods in each cylinder so that virtually it is a twelve-cylinder engine. It has no cylinder heads and the combustion chamber in each cylinder is formed between the crowns of the two pistons when they are at the tops of their strokes. This type of Diesel forms an interesting contrast to the opposed-piston gasoline engine...At definite intervals the engine stand is advanced along the flow line and sub- assemblies and pieces of equipment are added until the engine reaches the end of ...

Before continuing with the installation, here are a few definitions you should be aware of:Initial Timing: This is the base timing (also referred to as idle timing) of the engine before thecentrifugal advance begins.Centrifugal Advance: The centrifugal (or mechanical) advance mechanism is made up of weights, springs, advance cams, and an advance stop bushing. The amount and rate of advance that yourdistributor is capable of is determined by the centrifugal timing.
