HOW TO BUILD YOUR OWN BOAT TRAILER INTRODUCTION

While this manual can be used alone much like a book for reference and information purposes, its primary
purpose is as the instruction supplement to our boat trailer plans which are not complete without it. Those who have
purchased our boat trailer plans should read and review this manual along with the plans carefully before starting
construction or purchasing materials and equipment.
It is recommended that all components used to build your boat trailer be new and not salvaged, used, or
rebuilt. The purchase of a set of our plans allows for the construction of one boat trailer; plans are not to be used for
series production or to produce trailers for re-sale.
Boat trailer plans assume the use of conventional leaf spring suspension systems. Other independent or
torsion-type proprietary suspension systems may be used; these are described elsewhere in this manual and may
alter some of the equipment and material herein and on the plans. If using these units, follow the instructions for use
and installation provided by the manufacturer
